GO GLOBAL!, a game-changing acceleration program for tech startups launches in Romania, at How To Web 2024

Bucharest – Tel Aviv – New York – London

If you’re the founder of a tech startup, you can apply in just a few minutes for the chance to scale your business globally at an accelerated pace.

Upon admission to the program, you’ll gain swift access to expertise, networking opportunities, capital, and other resources designed to accelerate your growth and help you “fast-track” through key stages of development.

This is made possible through an advanced acceleration program developed by Arieli Capital‘s innovation arm and launched in Romania through a partnership led by Upgrade 100 together with How To Web, with strategic support from the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and backing from Raiffeisen Bank Romania.

In two European countries, Italy and Slovenia , as well as in the American state of Utah , this innovation program has facilitated investments totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. In addition to Romania, the program is now being launched in the Czech Republic, too.

  • Here you can explore more details on all the country or industry-focused programs conducted globally using this successful methodology.

How does the program work?

In brief, this program gives startups access to the expertise of top global experts and investors, with a particular focus on mature markets like the United States and Israel—where despite having half the population of Romania, over 90 unicorn companies (like UiPath)have been born.

Arieli Capital’s primary development hubs are located in Tel Aviv, New York, and London.

The accelerator, designed by Arieli Capital and introduced to Romania by Upgrade 100, offers an enticing goal for any early-stage entrepreneurs: connecting local ideas to global investment ecosystems.

“Your most valuable assets are how you use your time and how you leverage your network!
The Go Global program improves and optimizes both”Or Haviv, partner in Arieli Capital and Head of Innovation.

“Arieli Capital has designed this international program to provide selected startups with a significant competitive edge. With a unique, action-packed model, it offers exclusive access to a broad cross-sector international network, global exposure, and business development opportunities.”

The startups best suited for this accelerator typically meet two key criteria:

1️⃣ They have a product or prototype (MVP) in place — beyond just an idea or a vision.

2️⃣ They have secured at least one round of funding from any third-party source — meaning they haven’t developed everything solely on the founders’ resources.

The acceleration program spans 5 months and consists of pre-selection, finalist determination, and an intensive internship in Milan, Italy, scheduled for next spring.

During this period, the selected entrepreneurs — we aim for approximately 8-12 startups from Romania — will meet with top investors and experts from Israel and the U.S.

Such projects attract billions of dollars annually to these countries, benefiting sectors such as digital health, fintech, food engineering, and cybersecurity.

Other succesful launches in Europe

The acceleration program now available to new businesses in Romania has already provided entrepreneurs in Slovenia and Italy the opportunity to expand their projects and think on a global scale.

One such example was highlighted during the recent launch of the program in the Czech Republic.

The event featured notable attendees such as Marta Bonaconsa (photo), a researcher turned successful entrepreneur, who has been named by Forbes as one of Italy’s top 100 most successful businesswomen.

She co-founded Nanomnia, a company specializing in nanotechnologies and microplastic research. During the launch in the Czech Republic, Bonaconsa explained how entering the ecosystem created by Arieli Capital transformed her business journey.

“The most important question was, ‘Where am I going wrong?’ Then I learned to listen closely to the answers. I was amazed by Israel’s ability to attract investors. Nowhere in Europe did I find this kind of magnetism. The mindset is that everything must be built to function externally and to be the best. And for that, investment is crucial
